45140 Progress

February 2016

This is a long term restoration project. We have started to weather proof, this involves rubbing down to steel and applying 2 x  coats of red oxide, followed by 2 x  coats of primer and  2 x coats of gloss. We will also fit glass and temporary doors.

45140 is in a rather poor condition and missing many parts. The first job was to recover the compressor from in the nose end. In order to do this the nose lid had to be cut off to provide access. We have to replacement lids which were removed from Mel’s garden.
